Give Morne a break!

Very few will like it less than me to have lost against the Poms on Saturday. Ok yes, it was a draw but everyone knows, a draw at home is as good as a victory for the visitors, and although the record books will show it as a draw, it was the English who walked off the park feeling they deserved a victory, not the Springboks.

It’s here!

The time has arrived! At 8:35 on 24 February, the SuperRugby tournament for 2012 kicks off.  This year’s tournament runs over 20 weeks of the year, only being interrupted for three weeks of test rugby in June. Otherwise, it’s week in and week out rugby, Rugby, RUGBY!

We kick off with the Blues hosting the Crusaders early Friday morning, after that the Jake White Brumbies taking on the James O’Connor’less Force and a new look Bulls side (including kit) Spearheaded by Spies aiming to catch the Sharks off guard at Loftus, all on Friday!

It’s very difficult to assess the sides at this time as almost all the teams have a very new look to them. Sonny Bill left to Crusaders for the Chiefs to partner up with Kahui; there is no Dan Carter, McCaw, twinkle toes Quade Cooper, or Piri Weepu and Zac Guildford is probably in rehab still. We have newcomers abound, and looking at the sides, it almost seems as if the Lions and the Blues are the most consistent teams from last season!

So, my take on the fixtures this weekend:
