The Championship is over…but still lots to play for!!

Forget about the Rugby Championship.  By the Springboks not getting the full 10 points….or even just the 8 for that matter, against Argentina, and the All Blacks demolishing the Aussies, New Zealand has all but engraved their names on the inaugural Rugby Championship cup.

Team Meyer should now just focus on the bigger picture and not be concerned about winning the tournament.Rather build towards the end of year tour and get the pieces of the puzzle in place.

He should also perhaps forget about his statement about winning every match, and rather re-look at his approach to the game and what personnel he requires to deliver consistent winning performances over the long run. I know this is what he seems to be doing, picking personnel for the kick and chase, bulldozer game, but I don’t even think he has the right personnel in his side even for that game to be effective. Give Morne a break!

Very few will like it less than me to have lost against the Poms on Saturday. Ok yes, it was a draw but everyone knows, a draw at home is as good as a victory for the visitors, and although the record books will show it as a draw, it was the English who walked off the park feeling they deserved a victory, not the Springboks.

Can Will hold on to the Cup?

The Formula 1 kicks off in Australia, in what will be a jampacked, sports-till-you-drop, month of March 2012!

No less than 35 SuperRugby matches which will see the 41st Super Rugby match played by the 31st. 21 cricket matches,including the Proteas’ quest to become World nr 1 in test cricket starting on  the 7th, the finals of the Commonwealth Bank Series in Australia, the Asia Cup, and the Aussie tour to the West Indies, Rugby Sevens, the Six nations and also some major athletics tournaments in  preparation for the Olympic Games later on this year!
